Achieving Prior Notification

  Prior notification is achieved by the submittal of a General Correspondence (letter) to the Department of State, outlining all the details of your organizations proposal or presentation (including a copy of your proposal or presentation). Once you submit that proposal, you cannot change it — added last minute changes will require you to re-submit the entire package.

Your organization then must wait for the Department of State to provide a written acknowledgement of receipt of your request and then you must wait an additional 30 days from the date of the Department of State acknowledgement before you may make your proposal or presentation.

In addition, you must keep the request, acknowledgement, and proposal/presentation in a file for recordkeeping purposes.
