Technical Data
Marking

Marking what is and is not technical data is a requirement; however, it is also very useful in making sure that you understand what controls are in place for a particular document as well.

Each page of the document should be marked, just in case the pages get separated so that a reader will know they are working with technical data or not.

Marking your technical data informs business partners, co-workers and customers that a particular document has restrictions. This can help prevent export or import violations. Giving advance notice, in the form of document marking can save a great deal of confusion as a project expands and grows over a period of time.
