Keys to Compliance

TigerSwan Red List

It is U.S. Policy to not do any or limited business with certain countries based on Foreign National Policy. Do not interact with people from the following countries without Tom Wright's authorization. Always know who you are speaking with and what countries they have ties to. A failure to understand who you are speaking with could lead to an export violation that has National Security implications — this could put you at risk for criminal charges from the U.S. Government — keep in mind who you are talking to at all times.

There are multiple agencies that keep multiple lists of denied, debarred, or embargoed entities. Generally your organization will purchase the rights to use an online screening tool that will assist them in screening the 68 or so U.S. Government lists that must be reviewed prior to assuming a U.S. Company may complete a transaction with another entity. Not only Foreign Parties should be screened. There are many U.S. companies that have found themselves crossways with the U.S. Government and are not allowed to participate in international business transactions.

Department of Commerce Embargoed countries include:

  • Cuba
  • Iran
  • North Korea
  • Sudan
  • Syria
