Proactive Preparation

  Trade shows are one of the best places to drum up new business; however, they can also be one of the easiest places to accidently violate export laws.

At the beginning of the year when your organization is planning what events to attend and what equipment and services to offer at trade shows is the time to begin planning to ensure that you have all the proper authorizations in place prior to attending.

You should know where the show is being held — is it overseas? If so, you may have to obtain temporary licenses to demonstrate your equipment — and marketing licenses to discuss your services or equipment with Foreign Nationals.
