 Import and Export regulations have a language of their own. Occasionally it may seem to be a term is self explanatory, when the reality is that the USG agencies using the term may have an entirely different definition in mind. One of the most confusing series of terms are those related to people and entities. The regulatory agencies do not distinguish between an individual and an organization. The terms apply to both. In this section, the definitions of foreign versus not foreign are provided to help you better understand how the USG views entities.
